Michael: Is that why you have your Sunday best on today? Billy: Dressing for Success! Michael: First impressions are very important, especially at a job interview. Billy: You have hit the nail on the head, Michael. Michael: So, did you get the job? Billy: I don't know yet. They said that they would call me back later this week. This is an old saying that means that how people perceive you the first time you meet is very important. If it is a casual office, it might be a good idea to leave your three-piece suit at home and wear some fashionable pants instead. Keep ties conservative (no Mickey Mouse patterns or ties with flashing lights!). Wear dark, long socks that match the suit. Wear black leather shoes (wingtips or loafers) that are polished. No boots. Minimal jewelry - watch, wedding ring and school rings are acceptable. Get a conservative haircut - collar length, above the ears, neatly combed. Joan: Not yet. We will have two or three rounds of interviews to make sure we get the best person for the job. Jeff: Did they make a good first impression?
